Hi Kim, So you are saying these are free to members? Just checking! Copyright is WGI-US or WGI. Had noticed that there may be confusion with WGI as William Glasser Institute if there is no US following it and WGI as William Glasser International.

Illustrator is such a handy software tool. Design is lovely!

    Hi Juan Pablo,

It is December 30, 2015 and I am visiting this page because I wanted to check out whether this one and the one the board entertained at its meeting of 27 December 2015 was different. It is the same. I believe you must have had too much CHEER during the holidays! They are the same. Let me know what you see as different and we can re-format. Take care and continue to enjoy your vacation! I have little sympathy since we just got 30 cm of snow the last day or so!

    Hi Nancy,

I think we are off to a good start with the OVERVIEW so we can still support the programs that are so varied throughout the world but adapt to what people want today – attention to ‘time’ and ‘competencies’ and ‘accessibility.’

Looking foward to working on this further.

in reply to: Sliding scale for voting? #2369

    Hello,

I come from a background of Unions here in Quebec and this is a special, unique, and challenging experience. I recall when good friends of ours had their living room window broken by a brick thrown at the house by an angry union worker because the husband who lived there worked for Hydro Quebec, a company that provides electricity to the province.

I understood from the lawyer’s explanation with the incorporation in Texas is that there is for profit or not for profit possibilities. Glasser Canada is a not-for-profit but we have three levels of membership and some with voting rights. I am not sure when our by-laws say ‘no voting rights’ that we still have paying members but some with voting rights.

What concerns us in Canada is that few people shall vote for our new rep. Rolf and the Board has tried hard to encourage membership and, to the best of my knowledge, there were only about 49 people eligible to vote. I would like to work toward having reps be truly representative. Canada is moving into a federal election October 19th and it will be interesting to see the percentage of the vote. In Australia, people must vote!

In any case, looking forward to the discussion.

    Many thanks,
    Jean

in reply to: Draft Policy Document on Ethics #2368

    Hello,

I thought in the document I presented to have made a ‘darn good start’ at shortening it. I recall, Brian Lennon, when you sent Canada the one that Ireland had and this was ‘early days’ that it was quite good. I am in favour of an “Ethics” or Code of Behaviour Document; however, it needs to be streamlined. I agree with you on that. It’s the length – since we can never cover everything. I also noticed how you did include lots of the early suggestions and this I appreciate. Keep on ‘truckin'” – ooops – NO! Keep on ‘sailing . . . ‘

    Many thanks,
    Jean

I fully agree with the and/and in resolving and collapsing conflict! I hope that the time we take to revisit the vision etc. shall be helpful since most board members were not a part of it. In addition, it will provide a time and place to building a trusting relationship which is really one of the ‘key’ factors in being able to express onself without judgment.

in reply to: The Term MEMBER ORGANISATION #2362

It would have been helpful had Kim Olver been able to participate in the disucssion. It is interesting that the organizations who participated in the Sept 2nd meeting had come to an agreement with ‘local.’ I know I seemed to forget this important aspect. I hope we can devote some time but not loads of time to this one issue which has been lingering. May I suggest that Kim and John have some names available and which can be accepted by all. It would help resolve this, I believe.

in reply to: WGI PROGRAMS FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS – PROPOSAL #1921

I agree with Janet about Faculty Programs. Many are dropping out part way and those that reach Certification find the faculty programs cumbersome. The paperwork alone is enough to lead you to AA, a great programme but not one I would want to have to follow.

I would work with you, Janet, if you are still looking for people on this. Many thanks, Jean

in reply to: WGI PROGRAMS FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS – PROPOSAL #1918

Hello, Perhaps I sent this to everyone. It is taking me a bit of time to get used to visiting the site for discussion since there are many topics and perhaps there is no time for input. I believe it is crucial to look closely at programs and agree with Bette that JP’s is a good starting point. I wonder if Programs could be added for the Board’s time together although I am sure this is an ongoing topic with the board. I looked at Canada’a income for advanced training in 2013 compared with 2014 and the number is down by 66 2/3%. Attached are my initial comments but I believe if I were to review again, I might reconsider in order to making training and/or courses easily available and with much less paperwork. For example, revamping expectations for a 3-day program. Thanks, Jean
